Five Types of Iron Ore

Goethite: A yellowish-brown iron oxide hydroxide mineral with an iron content of around 63%.
Limonite: A hydrated iron oxide (yellowish) with 40-60% iron content, often considered a lower-grade ore.
Siderite: An iron carbonate mineral containing around 48% iron. It is less desirable due to its lower grade and higher impurities. These minerals are often found in metamorphic rocks and are extracted globally to produce steel for construction and manufacturing.

Fines: Smaller particles (0-8 mm) produced during mining that require agglomeration (sintering) before being used in a blast furnace.
Concentrates:Produced by grinding low-grade ore (like taconite) to remove silica and impurities, resulting in a high-grade powder.
Pellets:Fines or concentrates are mixed with binders and fired to create small, hard, uniform balls (9–13 mm) for high-efficiency ironmaking.
Sinter:A porous agglomerate formed by heating fines, flux, and coke to 1400 °C.
